Located just south of Cedar Falls and Waterloo in Black Hawk County, Hudson offers a smaller-community setting with convenient access to the rest of the Cedar Valley. With its own school district, locally owned businesses, established neighborhoods, and newer residential developments, Hudson has grown while maintaining a distinct identity of its own.

Outdoor recreation is a big part of what Hudson has to offer. The community connects to the Cedar Valley's extensive trail network, while Black Hawk Creek provides opportunities for kayaking and exploring the area's waterways. Local parks, athletic fields, a golf course, and recreational spaces give residents plenty of ways to spend time outside. Annual events like Hudson Days bring additional activity to town throughout the year.

With Highway 63 running through the community and Highway 20 nearby, Hudson offers the conveniences of the larger metro area without being right in the middle of it.
