Janesville
A Little Town with a Long History.

Founded in 1849, Janesville holds the distinction of being the oldest town in Bremer County. Named after Jane Barrick, the wife of one of its earliest settlers, the community has grown considerably since its beginnings, but its history remains an important part of its identity.
Located just north of Cedar Falls along the Cedar River, Janesville offers a smaller-town setting with convenient access to the larger Cedar Valley. Local parks, playgrounds, athletic facilities, and recreational trails provide places to spend time outdoors, while the Janesville Community School District serves as a central part of community life.
Janesville has also seen residential growth and investments in local amenities over the years, bringing newer housing options alongside its established neighborhoods. It's a community with a long history, but one that continues to make room for what's next.
