Waverly/Shell Rock
Two Communities. A Little of Everything.

Located in Bremer County, Waverly and Shell Rock are two distinct communities connected by the Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District and the rivers that help shape their landscapes.
As the Bremer County seat and home to Wartburg College, Waverly has a little more going on than you might expect from a smaller Iowa city. Its historic downtown, situated along the Cedar River, is home to locally owned shops, restaurants, and community events. Residents also have access to parks, golf courses, recreational facilities, and the Waverly Rail Trail, which connects to miles of additional trails throughout the region.
A short drive west, Shell Rock has its own character along the Shell Rock River. Riverside parks, fishing and boating access, and connections to the Rolling Prairie Trail offer plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors. Local businesses, established neighborhoods, and community traditions round out life in this smaller Bremer County town.
Together, Waverly and Shell Rock offer different ways to experience life in northeast Iowa, with plenty to explore in each community.
